Genetic factors contribute greatly to determining the type and shape of the hair. Hair is classified into different types according to several methods, including texture, scalp moisture, and the number of oily secretions. By reading the following lines, you can determine the type of hair without having to ask specialists.
And each of these types needs special care, and certain types of oils and lotions to moisturize, care for and preserve it.
Types of hair by texture (curl pattern)
Hair is divided according to texture into 4 straight types – wavy – curly – zigzag (extremely curly)
Straight hair, where the tufts are completely free of wavy or frizz, and the hair may be fine or coarse, and it may be thin or thick.
Wavy hair, which has some S-shaped waves in the English language, can be classified into 3 different grades which are 2A, 2B, and 2C.
Curly hair, which is characterized by its curly tufts more than wavy hair, is divided according to the degree of the amplitude of the waves into 3A, 3B, and 3C.
Curly hair, which is the waviest type of hair ever, and the waves are so close together that they can be rolled on the fingers.
Hair types according to scalp moisture
It is also divided into 4 types, namely, greasy – dry – normal – mixed.
Greasy hair and owners of this type suffer from increased oil secretion in the scalp.
Dry hair is sometimes caused by a defect or laziness in the secretion of oils from the sebaceous glands in the scalp, which leads to dryness in the scalp and hair strands.
Normal hair, with a high pH balance, and an unobtrusive shine.Mixed hair is a mixture of the previous types, as it combines the two types of oily and dry at the same time. We find that the scalp (the roots of the hair) itself is oily in the upper part of it and dry at the ends of the hair.
